About Ramadan and what to do

Praise be to Allah,and peace be upon his messenger Muhammad (salalahu alaihi wasalam).Ramadan the ninth month of the hijrah calendar is a good opportunity for a muslim to revise himself what has he done so far before and what negatives were their in his works to avoid them in future with a true repentance to Allah.Ramadan also, is a rare chance to increase faith and fear(Taqwa).So, fasting is one of the stronger reasons for getting Taqwa(fear) of Allah.As Allah said in the Holy Qur'an: {2 – 183/184}

The verse means: O ye who believe!fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you that ye may(learn) self-restraint.

The nations before us have fasting but by a special way that is different to ours.But the aim of the fasting of both is to get the whole fear(Taqwa) of Allah.So, fasting is an ordinance and a basic religious duty.In Ramadan some muslims can fast and others cannot.Those who cannot fast have a special circumstances and specific excuses,those are:

a)An elderly man or woman who cannot fast .those can leave fasting and pay one kilo and half of wheat or flour or barley or rice for every day of the holy month that means he/she needs about 45 kilos for the whole month to be given to the needy and poor people.In another way,he can give enough * * * * * * ** * * * * * ** * * * * * ** * * * * * *ed food to the poor every day or gather thirty poor people and give them enough * * * * * * ** * * * * * ** * * * * * ** * * * * * *ed food in dinner once as the follower of the prophet anas bin malik did when he became old.

b)Patients: patients are two kinds;first, apatient that his illness is not dangerous that means he can cure himself and use medicins and get well soon this kind of people can break fasting for the days which he needs and spend these days after Ramadan and before the next Ramadan because his disease is temporary.The second kind of patient is that his illness cannot be cured and he needs to use treatments and medicins during the day like Cancer disease.This kind of patients as the same of elderly people they can break fasting and give a ransom to the poor .

c) Travellershttp://www.qasralkhair.com/vb/images...es/redface.gifr people in Journies:Those can take the permission of Allah and break their fasting and spend the missing days after Ramadan and before the next Ramadan.Sometimes travelers said;the journey is not too long and the distance is approach so I can fast and no need to break it.We can say it is up to you because it is a permission and gift from Allah to you. you can have it or leave it.But you should note some thing that if your journey is very hard and it will cause you a hardship or causes you a problem ,in this point we say you must take the permission and break fasting and spend after Ramadan.Allah said in the verse above;Fasting for a fixed number of days;But if any of you is ill,or on a journey,the prescribed number(should be made up)from days later.For those who can do it(with hardship),is a ransom.The feeding of one that is indigent.But that will give more of his own free will it is better for him.and it is better for you that ye fast,if ye only knew.)

d) For the woman who is in the menstrual period or in a state of birth blood discharge they can break fast and spend the missing days after Ramadan .The woman who is in pregnant or feeding a baby if they feel fearing towards them selves or feared themselves and their babies they can break fast and spend after Ramadan because they are the same as patients or travelers.

Allah said in this verse:Ramadan is the month in which was sent down the Qur'an ,as a guide to man kind,also clear(signs) for guidance and Judgment (between right and wrong)So every one of you who is present(at his home)during that month should spend it in fasting.But if any one is ill,or on a journey,the prescribed period (should be made up)by days later.Allah intends every facility for you:he does not want to put you to difficulties (He wants you)to complete the prescribed period and to glorify him.In that he has guided you;and perchance ye shall be grateful). {2 – 185}
