Dear Brother Vendor:
Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon you.
I would like to remind you of the grace of Allah Almighty to you in Islam, among which is in
the supplication of the Prophet (peace be upon him):
“O Allah! (He Who) alters the hearts;
make firm my heart upon Your religion." You must be
proud of being a Muslim and be afraid
of the vanishing of this grace.
Brother, on the 14th of February this year, the
unbelievers will celebrate one of their festivals
which we do not have any connection with known as
“Day of Love” in remembrance of the
Christian Priest, Valentine; therefore, you must be
watchful or cautious to sale any items
related to or in connection with this celebration because
your selling of any of these items
would be regarded as supporting them toward
performing their false festivals. Even if the
buyers are Muslims, since we Muslims have only two
festivals, Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha;
and all others are considered innovation and forbidden.
You must know that earnings from
selling any of the items necessary for the celebration of
this festival and other prohibited
festivals – if you do this – will be considered forbidden
(haram). Our beloved Prophet (peace be
upon him) said: “All flesh that grew out of something forbidden the Hell Fire would be the
most deserving place for him”. Refraining from all these would be in the best interest of
admonition. All the best and peace be with you.
